HT1000 "Frankenstiend" ???

Post by jayres »

Hi all, having a problem with a HT1000 that was obtained from surplus... When tried to read, would read radio then tell me model and serial were invalid...

Used another software piece to colne a known good "B" version codeplug in it, however radio will still not come to life (no tx/rx, no self test on power up, just plays dead)... can read all day long, but when I try to write I get an error of "Workspace and radio software do not conform".

The radio model (per tag) is H01KDC9AA2AN.

Any ideas on where to go from there? :(

I'm thinkin you're SOL.

Put it in the pile with a couple of Midland's and lets have a radio BBQ.

Maybe some moron changed the controller board (and RF section) with a MT2000. You have nothing else to lose at this point so open the radio up and verify the part numbers inside actually belong to a HT1000.

What radios do you own?: HT1550's, X9000's, CDM1550's

someone could of also changed the backing plate, it might not be a vhf? you could try putting a uhf codeplug in it.

Guesses from a distance aren't all that valuable, but if I had to bet (a moderate sum) I'd bet that the radio is a Model I MT2000, MTS2000 or MTX8000, and not an HT1000. Try reading it with an appropriate rev. of MTSX and you'll find out.

Sorry, Otto, but the HT1000 RSS is all 'reverse compatible'.

Well, have tried MTSX and no luck there either, get "Checksum Failed" error upon attempting to read the radio....

Any other ideas? (other than the barbecue, thats still an option!)

May try to open it up over the weekend and make sure there are actually real parts inside there!
