HLN3333B Setup

Post by RadShop »

I recently aquired a GM300, and to SM120s. Looking to use this unit to control all the radios "sort of". The goal is to have a Cross band single directional repeater, while also maintaining a low-power UHF-UHF (ONE WAY) link between the SM120s.

To setup the RICK just as one way repeater (without the third radio at this point), all I need to do make a cable that carries Pin 1 from 'RADIO A' to J1 on the RICK, and ground Pins 2 and 6.

Next, I make a cable to carry Pin 3 and Pin 4 from J2 to "RADIO B". Grounding Pins 2 and 6 again.

(*) Question is, what do I ground to?

Up to this part, I think I understand how to set this up, just by looking at the diagram, but I may be WAY off.

Now, if I want to include the third radio, off of the J4 16 pin port, I can carry Pin 5 to Pin 3 on a microphone, and from Pin 3 to Pin 4 on a microphone, while grounding microphone pins 2 and 6, correct?

The only switches I could identify needing to be set to certain positions were:

S2-5: On (Flat Audio to Accessory Pin 5)
S2-6: On (Mic Audio to Microphone of Radio "B")
S2-8: Off
S2-9: On

Help?

Errr, to clarify, the SM120s wouldn't be "talking" to each other. I'd want to take the audio from one SM120, and have it transmitted by the other SM120.

Gm300 in position "A"
SM120 in position "B"

And then an SM120 off the accessory connection.
