Channel interference with pl

Post by Rescue1026 »

I am recieving unwanted transmissions from adjacent stations.
Some stations have the same freq with diff. pl others have "close" freq with diff pl.
Problem transmitters range from 20 to 50 miles away.
I have set the sql to 15, this reduces the problem somewhat but it still exists. Is there a programming setting that I may have missed?
Coded Squelch Scan?
XL Scan Squelch?

I have rechecked the pl tones and they are correct.
I have verified mointor off.
Is there any setting that will require pl and a minmum signal strength to open sql?
All modes operate correctly, I just cant eliminate the distant station rx

What radios do you own?: HT1550's, X9000's, CDM1550's

if it's on a different pl and 20 miles away it shouldn't be interfering with yours. what radio are you getting this problem on? a spectra? the only thing i can think of is that your mic might not be grounded and even tho you have a pl code programmed, the mic not grounded will make it go to csq.

You don't tell us what kind of radio (unless I missed it). Some older radios defaulted to CSQ when scanning.
