My question is on xts-5000, 3000 radios, is there any way to determine what rss/cps version it uses from the radio it self like on self-test or front-panel?
Also, what is the current rss version for xts-5000 and xts-3000 and the price for each?
Thanks,

Nope, no way to tell the last version it was programmed with, other than reading it with multiple versions & seeing which one works.
XTS3000 CPS - RVN4182S - R5.00.02
XTS5000 CPS - RVN4181T - R7.00.01
Sorry, I don't have U.S. pricing, but they're right around the $300 mark.

the radio HOST firmware (available from the service menu) *DOES* give a hint as to what is required to program the XTS 5000.
Host 5.xx requires CPS v5 AS A MINIMUM (could be higher)
Host 6.xx requires CPS v6 AS A MINIMUM
ad naseum
however, if one programs a Host 5.xx with CPS 7.xx - then of course all bets are off.... as you'll need CPS 7 to read it.

HI,
I looked up XTS3000/Asrto Saber CPS earlier this week and the latest/last release is running $276 right now.
Hope that helps,
Lowry
