Fuel Totalizer Issue

Fuel Totalizer Issue

A non-profit I volunteer with is obtaining Floscan fuel totalizers for their boat. I want to derrive the NMEA 0183 sentence for fuel consumption for a PC based data logging system

The floscan does all the calculations and displays the data on it's head, but does not output it anywhere.

Soo, I need a way to read the supply transducter ("Z" pulses per CC of fuel), subtract the return transducer ("X" pulses of fuel per CC of fuel,) and format that to NMEA 0183 . Any ideas where to start?
