Warbler wav/mp3 file from a centracom?

Post by PhillyPhoto »

I was wondering if anyone has, or knows how to get a good quality wav or mp3 file from a centracom console. I'm looking for the warbler typically used by Baltimore City when dispatching box assignments. Being a digital system, it's going to sound distorted a little if I try to record it over the air. Thanks for the help.

If the channel/talk group that you are looking to get the warbling tone from is being routed to a logging recorder, you could clamp on to the LOMI punch block and pull the audio off that way.

Or you could set up a new BIM in the CEB (or use an existing BIM) and clamp onto the punch block that is attached to that BIM and send the warbling tone.

At any rate, you can break out the microphone cable into alligator clips and clamp onto the punch block to record the audio you're looking to get.

Is this what you are looking for? The recording is a big over-modulated, but it what the centracom does when you use the competitive QC-II tone paging.
