Cable Part # for Remote Spectra

Post by dpd4703 »

Can anyone help me identify the part number for the cable between the transceiver and the remote head on a Spectra Model #D43KXA7JA7BK with an A7 head ????

Thanks for any help

My UHF Spectra service manual says it's an HKN4356B 17-ft cable, for remote mounting of control heads. One end is a DB25 connector, the other plugs into the back of the control head adapter board and has flying leads for the speaker and ignition control.

Unfortunately the model matrix is incomplete and incorrect in that it shows this cable for only the D14/T14 models, and I know it has to be used on the T84 which is always a trunk-mount.

But the above part shows up in the exploded diagram as well as the option list for remote mounting kit, W496. I would expect it's the same part for UHF and VHF, unless Motorola pulled a fast one.

Hope this helps.

I saw that one and it did look correct to me also. Many thanks for the help.

There's 2 types of remote cables, depending on whether your control head remote housing has the circuit board in it or not. If it does, the HKN4356 is right, if not, there is another old-style cable that screws into the back of the head that I can't think of the part# off hand.

Cable info is found here:
http://www.open.org/~blenderm/spectra/p ... tml#sprcab

3080157M01 or 3080157M04 for the original style cables.
HKN4355 or HKN4356 for the systems 9000 cables when the A7 control head rear housing has the HLN6432 interface board.

The systems 9000 control head connector has a 3 row pin out for this cable:
