RICK/Radius Style connector

Post by GEMOTO »

Does anyone know the Motorola part number for the black connector that you plug into the 16 pin connector on the back of the radius series mobiles and RICK's? Is this made by AMP?

Is there a Mouser or Digikey part number for one of these or a similar one?

See http://www.batlabs.com/maxrad.html for the Digikey part numbers.

Also http://www.repeater-builder.com/maxtrac ... acing.html

There are people on eBay who are selling connectors with jumpers, or with empty pins, or with pins and short wires. I think I've even seen cables for use with R.I.C.K. units.

Digikey doesn't have the connectors in stock. This eBay seller has connectors, blank pins, wired assemblies, etc. Check his eBay store or items for sale by him.

I have no affiliation with this seller, but am putting it here for reference purposes only.

If you are using the cable for a R. I. C. K. or some other applications not all pins are required for proper operation.

Mouser has the connector in stock.

I found that Digikey did not have them so I went to Mouser. I ordered a bunch of connectors and pins for future projects.

Thanks guys.

I also found them at Mouser, but they're NOT listed in their catalog and the screen that tells you the price does NOT have a catalog page. Interesting situation.

But at least you found some. Info on repeater-builder.com has also been updated today as a result of your query.

I have had experience with Mre1032. I have ordered many cables and accessories from him, with nothing but a good report. He's actually a ham as well (won't disclose his call, for his protection), but a nice guy all around.

His prices weren't out of line with Mouser or Digikey. I'd go with him if I wanted separate parts. So far, I've had good luck with pre-made jumper plugs for MaxTracs, Radiuses, GM300s, and GTXs, from rcbi, after changing the configuration for GTXs, of course.
