Comtegra to cdm1250

Post by 911-EMT »

Hi I have a comtegra with a mdc1200 board, so my question is could I connect it to a cdm1250 to use it for advanced mdc signaling like selective call, remote monitor, radio inhibit, via the radios accessory plug to the comtegra, or do I need one the remote boxes to do the job?

You can do all that and a bag of chips besides radio inhibit with just the CDM if you program it correctly first I believe.

thanks for the info ray, you are right on the selective call but only the pre-programmed one’s, (I have no keypad) what i rely need is remote monitor that I set up in the radio but I could not get it into the radios menu to access it, I was told in an outer post that I need a console to access it and I can’t access it from the radio it self.

there shoud be a section to enable menu options. depending on the model the options can be enabled. have you programmed the comtegra yet via rss? you will need a tone remote or dc remote. tone is standard dc is an option. there are some for sale on flea bay or someone here might sell one if not i'd try tessco.com. I have not installed my comtegra yet but the tone levels need to match. if you need service call gai-tronics not motorola.

Good luck

I have not programmed the comtega yet. Im working on a power cable first that I’m abut to finished, I do have the RSS and I believe the cable is a standard DB9 to DB15 that the rib box use’s, my only question is if it pays the hassle with all that to make the comtegra work, and then find out that it is not working with the cdm1250.

Well I was able to make a power supply as discussed with another topic again do not connect your console directly to the radio as you will blow it. You need a medium which is the DC remote or Tone Remote. Without one of them it will not work.
