I picked up a GP380 recently for amateur use, so far I like what I see! I'm trying to figure out some stuff though, as info online is pretty lacking.
I'm used to programming the HT1250 series and well, this beast is totally different.
I'm a bit confused about the relationship between "Per Channel" and "Per Personality". My observation is that "Per Channel" allows you to set frequency information and "Per Personality" is for setting signalling, RX rules and that kind of thing.
I'm VERY confused about the Select 5 stuff like Telegram, and all that. Select 5 isn't really something I "need", but I'd like to enable it on a few channels just because.
If possible I would also like to have the radio decode Select 5 over the air. There's a local system that uses Select 5 signalling and I'd like to be able to see their ID's, if possible.
Any help is very appreciated!

- What radios do you own?: HT1550's, X9000's, CDM1550's
5 tone is used overseas, that's why that radio is sold there and not here very much. most around here use QC II. my understanding of the per channel and per personality is a marketing way of saying a 128 channel radio will do 255 channels. but basically you can only have 128 base channels but you can assign them to more than 1 spot in your zones up to 255 times. someone correct me if i'm wrong on that.
