HT1250 Quickcall Personality

I am attempting to program a channel in a HT1250 with a quick call to make an alert channel to alert like a minitor! I know where to program the channel, and the quick call but i am having trouble on how to keep the channel silent until the tones drop! I have a seperate channel in the radio and it alerts now but all traffic comes over the channel. How do I make it silent until the tones alert?

Do you have the tones setup in QCII. IF so then on the channel you want to use as the ALERT channel under SIGNALING select Quick Call II under RX. That should be it.

Also, on the same page where you select QCII signalling, set it for "AND" squelch. You won't hear anything unless the proper tones are received.
