maxtrac question....
Pardon my ignorance eveyone, but I've never really played much with MaxTracs, except for a couple on VHF...
I'm getting a D35MWA5GF5AK, I know that is 800 MHz, but what else does it do, trunking, conventional, both? Type I or II, I seem to recall only B7 MaxTrac's did Type II..
Does it have a 2 segment display control head, or is it one with just the two push buttons...
Anyone know of a full model break-down chart, couldn't find much here or on repeater-builder....
Thanks

OK, thanks for the info guys, I picked up the radio yesterday and the model number is indeed D35MWA5GF5AK...
Its a Maxtrac 888, 800Mhz, 15 watt, has the full "001" control head, and is trunking, I assume since the buttons are, Sys, Subfleet, Phone, Call, and Search. Now the question of the day is, Type I or Type II?
I haven't had time yet to crack it open and find out what it has for firmware..
Thanks

That post just made my dayVictor Xray wrote:Yes, F is Privacy Plus TypeII trunking, but may be lacking Smartnet features. C is TypeII and Smartnet. But be aware neither F nor C will properly trunk systems with splinter channels.

Thank you!
Any idea on how many systems and subfleets it can have?
Can it do talkaround/conventional channels?

This one is almost identicle to mine except its a F6 instead of an F5, and it says its Type I, II as well as LTR...
Is that possible?

Ok, got the radio, read it, and it has the capability to have 2 Systems, 3 Subfleets, and 3 conventional channels for a total of 9 modes..
When I go to edit the original talkgroup in the radio, I can't do anything, move, delete, add, anything to the first trunking channel in it, I must need a syskey for that particular system before I can do anything, no?
