Any way to run on TX CDM LS radio w/o mic connected?
Hi all!
Any way to run on TX my CDM LS radio without mic (or any other accessories which can do PTT) connected?
For e.g. by programming & pressing some button on the radio. Or for pressing some button in CPS software?
I check CPS, but do not found any helpful function.

By using the external PTT on the accessory connector and connecting that pin(pin 3, if I remember) to one of the programmable digital outputs you can control PTT from the front of the radio. You would need to program either aux control 1 or 2 to force the digital i/o pin that you're using to go low true when the corresponding button on the radio is pressed/released.

I don't know how many ways there are to tell you this, but there is no button on the front of the CDM that's directly programmable for PTT. If your accessory connector pin 3 is already in use, the only other way is to wire a pushbutton between pins 6 & 4 of an RJ connector and plug it into the mic jack.

- What radios do you own?: HT1550's, X9000's, CDM1550's
what exactly are you trying to do that you can't use the front or rear connectors? what are you trying to transmit that you don't need a mic for?

well if you don't want to tell us what you are trying to do so we can help you then the only 2 solutions are already mentioned, you have to use the front or rear connector.

Not with the regular LS radio. If you had the CDM1550 conventional-only radio, or the LS+ "6AN" model, you could program a button for "1 touch" message or status...but it would send MDC along with the carrier, and it would only last a second or so.wireless.friendly wrote:I do not want use mic jack or ACC jack.
Really no any function availabe in buttons prigramming, which can make carrier (for e.g. call function, alarm, & etc.)?
Your best solution as mentioned above would be to jumper pin 3 to one of the programmable accessory pins, set that pin for "aux control 1", and assign one of the buttons as "aux control 1" as well. You can choose to have the button toggle on/off with a press, or set it for a timer, up to 20 seconds. Surely you can use a simple jumper to help you accomplish what you want. Otherwise, no go.

Funny that this is posted under "Hardware info" when he says there is no way he can use hardware to do the job.
Should we create a new section called "No hardware" info needed.
Just kidding around. How about phone interconnect and assign a button for connect. It would generate DTMF. Not even sure if this is a button option.

I try "Phone Mode" function for Conventional mode. I assign button & assign channel to my "Phone System".
It works! And no DTMF if Access/Deaccess fields kept clear.
I got short carrier (aprrox. 1 sec) with PL by pressing assigned button (must be pressed twice).
But some minor things that "Phone" programming required in each channel & assigned button must be pressed twice, not once.
These "things" not a big problem, but may be more easy way exist to get similar result?
