HT1250 Dead

Post by arlojanis »

My HT1250 LS UHF will not power on. I have checked battery contacts, fuse, and switch. What else can I check?

I have removed and reinstalled the ribbon-flex cables. I also resoldered switch connections.

Is it possible it died during a botched firmware upgrade? If so, it may just be stuck in "bootstrap" mode. Another possibility is it was programmed at one point with a SmartRIB, and a diode on the "boot control" line was burnt up & is now shorted. It's located near the bottom of the board...just removing it will fix the problem.

Otherwise, it could also be a defective reference oscillator...or something in the front board, or a host of other problems.
