4runner?

Post by crazyboy »

Anybody have any install pics of a 4runner. Also, does anyone have any ideas on routing wires from inside the "box"(under the armrest) in the center console. Any other ideas or things i need to know? Thanks

Good luck on the 4Runner install I own one also and have no clue on where to mount anything and make it look good. No room in the dash and no room under the arm rest since the rear heater fan is mounted there. As far as running wires I ran my strobe wires along the edge of the carpet. I removed the plastic trim ran the wire under that to the B post then to the strobe pack under my seat.

I ended up mounting the scanner in the center console in the little "box" under the armrest. I'll have pics up soon.

Have you thought about mounting on the headliner? Is that even possible?

I'm actually entertaining that idea on a Nissan X-Terra... two Spectras with remote mounts where the sunglasses holder now is.

I've found this for a Jeep though: http://www.tuffyproducts.com/consoles/overhead/048.html

There is a small console up there. Has anyone heard of having to goto the dealer and have the computer over-rided before doing installs?

No, but I have had the dealer try to blame the electronics installed in the vehicle for electrical malfunctions (like the dashboard warning lights lighting up like a christmas tree.)

Everything still works fine, they just said it needs to be overrided.
