How to Fix Minitor III Pagers That Stop Alerting

Post by aaknitt »

Hi all,

I've made a page showing how to fix Minitor IIIs when the tone decoder chip comes unsoldered due to board flex.

http://radioetcetera.googlepages.com/minitoriiifix

Follow the links on the page for a few other things that may be of interest.

Does this work on the M4 as well?

I've never had an M4 to play with, so I can't say for sure. If the guts look the same though (if the M4 has the same decoder IC), I'm guessing it probably will work. Maybe someone else who's opened up an M4 could comment.

They are the same inside. Same problem with loose connections. I've had to fix several of them just like the M3.
