MCS2000 Problem, NEED HELP QUICK

Post by idotradio »

ok, heres the scoop.

Bought a mcs 2000 VHF Model 2 from ebay. Got the radio, it powers up and what do you know.....Fail 01/90. I have never owned a MCS2000 before. Is there some kind of jumper diagram that needs to be in place with the acc connector? I dont have the acc connector, it didnt come with one.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would like to try and get this unit up and running by this weekend, as this is the last piece that I needed to complete my console, and now I can finally start my install.

can anyone send me a picture diagram of the regulator placement so that I can reflow the solder connection. I am willing to try anything at this point, I am tech savvy, but I dont currently have a manual for the MCS2000 Model II dashmount radio.

if that's the fail code, get your money back, that's a internal hardware error.

Are you sure it isn't 01/79? That's what normally shows when the jumper isn't in place between pins 4 & 9. Otherwise, fail 01/90 means the main body of the radio isn't communicating with the control head...there can be multiple reasons for that, but check the control head connector very closely for breaks, cold solder, etc.

my guess is that's why the guy was selling it on ebay, they knew there was something wrong with it. i'd still try to get your money back. pay pal likes to screw everyone, see if it can work in your favor this time.
