MDC signal question

Post by kb0uxv »

I am setting up my HT1000 and a MTX838 to send a MDC signal at the end of TX with my badge number to dispatch. My nunber is 123. Question is, for the MDC value do I just type in 123?

I see in HELP it can except numbers OR hex. Is there a way to do letters? It would be nice to use "G123" if that is possible. I dont know anything about "hex" numbers/letters.

Thanks for your help.

What radios do you own?: X9000 thru APX

0 thru F is valid. It has to be a four digit code like:

0123
1230

F123
1FA4

etc
etc
Lowband radio. The original and non-complicated wide area interoperable communications system

What radios do you own?: Way too many to list, over 50

hex = numbers 0123456789 and letters ABCDEF

these are the only letters you can use with MDC 1200

the mdc id is 4 places long so you have to fill in all spaces.

ex.

if you want to use your badge # 123 you have to enter it as 0123.
