HT1000 UHF off freq tx and rx

Post by dave.au »

Ive just got a used HT1000 with bad rx audio and tx audio.
the rx audio sounds like hf ssb - your listening to a transmission on lsb but it should be usb, to put it simple it sounds like aliens :)

the tx is the same, after searching ive found nothing that somes close to this problem and a fix any ideas?

ive tried an speaker mic, checked the codeplug data etc... alignment time maybe?

Sounds like a defective reference oscillator....

It may still work, but it's no longer on frequency either, and this will throw off RX and TX channels.

I hope your radio will show you affection after the repair is completed also...would be nice.

To borrow a quote from a friend.......Just work once, that's all!

for anyone interested, the radio was fixed -

it had a transcrypt voice encryption module installed, removed it and re-programmed the radio to suit and bingo !

Funny how a reference oscillator can magically change into a voice encryption board huh?

Glad you found and eliminated the trouble!
