Anyone running 50watts or more with a late model chevy truck and a fender mount antenna? I know my last truck didn't like the 100 watts out VHF of an x9000 (temp setup) on a lip mount antenna...
Thinking about a dual band VHF/UHF Sti-Co http://www.sti-co.com/fmd.asp running 50 (maybe 100) watts VHF, and maybe 100 watts UHF with a 2004 Chevy with the V8. Just all the new trucks (or anything else) is using the computer to run everything these days.

Lowband radio. The original and non-complicated wide area interoperable communications system
My suburban has the premium sound system, the truck has the LT trim package so it has pretty much everything. All of the sti-co's that I have used or installed tend to cut out the am/fm when the VHF is transmitting but it has never affected the radio itself in a damaging way
Outstanding. That's what I wanted to hear. I have the LT/Z71 package, and just want to double check. Nothing sucks more after spending money and having to rewire..
