I have recently acquired a 2 channel 6W 12.5Khz 68-88Mhz MC Micro.
I have already successfully programmed a 20 channel LCD head 10W MC Micro and have a duff 2 channel 25W M110.
The 2 channel 6W MC Micro has a standard 2 channel A/B head. The set contains 1 eeprom (8pin type) and space for a 2nd eeprom. My 20 channel set has 2 eeproms.
If I replace the 2 channel head with a "multi-channel" LCD head , does anybody know how many channels can be programmed into the set with just the 1 eeprom fitted?
Also, is it possible to replace the 6W PA unit with a 25W M110 PA unit ?
Thanks

For sure you can swap the PAs; no problem at all.
If you check with the RSS, you will notice that there are just 2 M110 versions:
1. The PL/DPL version that can do 2 channels (your current configuration).
2. The Select5 version that can do 9 channels.
I think that the Select5 version uses 2 chips, but I'm not sure...
Also note that if you play with the eeprom configuration, you should set the equivalent jumpers beside the eeproms. You'd better consult a Select5 radio.
You can use 24Cxx chips.

There are 10 kind of people: Those who understand binary and those who don't.
Thanks Paul,
The radio I am looking to mod is an MC Micro - although I think this is identical to an M110 except the RSS.
The MC Micro is 2 channels, PL , 12.5Khz and 6W's with 1 eeprom.
I already have another MC Micro which is 20 channels , NO PL, 25Khz, 10W and 2 eeproms.
When I upload the "20 channel" MC Micro , the RSS has options for 2, 8, 20, 32, 75, and 99 channel heads.
If I replace the 2 channel head with a "multi-channel" LCD head , do I need to change a jumper on the MC Micro PCB or do I just change the RSS configuration from "2 channel" to , say , "8 channels"?
When 2 eeproms are fitted, do you know if they are the same identical eeprom?
I have some duff VHF/UHF MC Micros - can I use an eeprom from one of these to get extra channels? Will I need to blank the eeprom or can I just insert it into the space on the MC Micro and then reprogram ?
Thanks
