What is a Motorola Charger Slide-In Spacer Kit???

Post by losangelescop »

hey evryone,

was browsing eBay just a second ago and came across this: Motorola Charger Slide-In Spacer Kit (Model #HLN9794A)...heres the link....

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/MOTOROLA-CHARGER ... dZViewItem

if you scroll down, you can see the picture that it divides a Motorola Waris series charger in half, but I still can't figure out what this little device does.

does anyone out there know? thanks for any responses in advance. :)

depending on what battery you are using or if you are just charging the battery without the radio it will space it back so the grooves in the battery match up easily with the groove in the charger. it don't have to be there to function.

I am pretty sure they come standard in the charger kit too.

I've found no use for them.

They do.

if you have the slim-profile batteries that came with our waris-es...you NEEED theese to make sure the radios hit the contacts. For our dept, as we have all the 9009A batteries, i took and put a dab of superglue on the bottom and permanently adhered the smaller of the spacers into the chargers that went to the members...prevents people from saying "but i put it in the charger, and the light doesn't come on" as often. Haven't had to use the bigger of the two spacers, the half incher....

hmm...

All of my batteries slide onto the rails in the charger and have no issue making contact. I use the '9008' batteries though, of course it's always possible to cram the radio in too far forward thus missing the radio.

yer, i use the HNN9008A batteries. seeing as my radios are 2nd hand off of ebay and so are the chargers that come with them, i have neva seen or had any of the spacer kits so thats y i asked the question. i see no use for them either, if i dont match the grooves in the charger with the grooves on the batteries the 1st time, i just pull the radio out and take aim again :P ther'ye no use to me, but 'thebigphish' has a great idea in his post above. that'll definately stop them asking him that 'stupid' question  i guess u can expect that from ppl who rnt M fans like us
