think about how to ENCOURAGE Motorola learning safely with GRACE.....NOT condemnation.
I do not know of a list that's avaliable. If you have a Motorola online account, they should be listed in the resource section, and you should be able to download from there.
I think just about everything is 5.x
Thanks,
Alex

That Fimware is ancient.
There were a craplod of bugs in it when the radios first came out. It may almost be worth flat rating them to get not only the firmware updated, but also to ensure that the boards and fixes are current...
They had problems with everything from the clock to the RF performance and antenna's.....
You REALLY need 5.x at least! Most dealers will charge you a nomal fee ($25-$50) to upgrade the firmware.

Probably around $300-$350 / radio.
Not cheap, but worth it for those - esp. if you hve some of the very early radios.
It might be worth calling about - If I recall - they were actually recalled at one point, and you might be able to get something done under that recall.
There was also a recall on the antenna's - those fancy looking ones don't work, the old GP300/MT1000 antenna's work.

The recall SRN expired a couple years ago..
And... most of the issues were in the VHF radios, UHF ones were all dandy.
Also, the issues were with certain serial number ranges, and firmware in the R1 series... after that... dunno, but the firmware should be upgraded anyhow, as stated here already.

i just put r05.10.05 in mine 2 weeks ago. and i think if you still have r01.xx you will still have to have it updated twice. you will have to have it updated to r02.xx then you can go to the newest. or someone correct me if i'm wrong, i havn't seen a r01.xx in years. and actually you need to read the radio first, it may have newer than what it states on the back label.

What were some of the issues that the early models had? I have an HT1550 that has lousy rcv audio and haven't been able to figure out why. Plus it has a line out on the display, so it might be a good candidate for a flat rate. I'm not sure the fw rev, i'll have to look at it and see. These things have a service menu like the AS/MT/MTS do?
Look, it's not in my nature to be mysterious. But I can't talk about it and I can't talk about why.
