CDM Firmware Update Help & EX Firmware help

Post by Vercomm »

Hello,

I was trying to update the firmware in my CDM1250's. I have some problems. I am using a Motorola RIB box and their flash adaptor. I built my own cable from the Batlabs web site. When I open my firmware upgrade and click program it tells me the put the radio in boot strap mode by putting adaptor in "B" position and hitting power twice while waiting 1 second between each. After I do that it click ok and I get an error message saying the radio is not in boot strap mode. Any help would be appreciated.

Also I have been updating lots of Ht750/1250's with the new non-4-line display firmware. is this firmware for the EX500/600 or are they on their own?

Thanks,

Jamie

What radios do you own?: The best that low bid can buy.

It sounds to me like you are well on your way, but you need the Motorola ribless cable for the flash adaptor to work properly. I don't have the part number handy, but I am sure someone will reply with it before long.

You don't have to have the ribless cable. All the flash adaptor does is take the BOOT CONTROL pin (12?) to ground to put the radio into bootstrap on power-up. Check to make sure this is happening - you do have this wire in your cable, yes?

For reference, Polaris cables do NOT have the boot control line run in them... thus no flashing.

I built it from the picture on the batlabs website. There was a boot control. The rib box I was using is a know good working one. Not sure why it wouldn't go into bootstrap mode.
