HT1250 dead

Post by arlojanis »

I have a VHF HT1250 that usually does not come on when switched on. Sometimes it does come on. If it is on, it may go off. I have checked battery, flexes, and resoldered switch connections. I also looked at fuse connections. What else can I try?

What radios do you own?: HT1550's, X9000's, CDM1550's

you've got to get it apart and powered up and start probing around

This is once again the same problem one of my HT750's exhibited before it was sent in.

Came back with the "Containment Kit" done (blue battery contact seal on the radio) and all was well again.

Try reflowing the 16.8 Mhz xtal. I had a 750 that was intermittent. Tapping around the xtal made it do flaky things.
