Maratrac ptt id setting

Post by 911-EMT »

We are using a maratrac with mdc1200 unit id (star alert), it works grate on leading (pre) but is there a way to change it to tailing (post) all we need is the dispatcher to see the id and not for RAC so it just slows down transmission by being set to leading (pre).

Sure. Using the MaraTrac/M400 RSS, you should be able to enter the MDC options screen and change the PRE option to POST. Available options should be PRE, POST, or BOTH.

Stat-alert/mdc-1200

Two questions:
(1) Is Stat-Alert and MDC-1200 the same protocol? (They sound the same.)
(2) I don't see anything in the Maratrac RSS to change the PTT-ID. It looks like it's either on or off and sidetone is always on. Also only accepts 0001-9999 for an ID.

Yes Stat-Alert and MDC-1200 is the same protocol and it works fine on 0001-9999, I never tried A-F. and my question was unanswered, I cant find anything in the rss to set the ptt id to “pre” or “post”, it seems that when it’s on its doing pre or off doing on id.

I agree. It looks like it's either on or off with no way of changing it from the default of "pre".

I know it can do Post-ID but I don't have the RSS in front of me. I'll check in a little bit and get back to you. Usually it is either something you set in the signalling menu or it is set on a per channel basis in the channel section.

eBay at it's finest:
Me: "What exactly is a 900Mhz UHF CB?"
Them: "A very nice CB at 900Mhz speed!"
