DB408 on 70 CM

Post by BDB »

I have inherited a repeater project at work for a CERT group and have to select an antenna for the project. I am considering the DB408. I know the 70cm band is a little out of the antennas specified bandwidth. Will this antenna work well in the 70cm band ?

Thanks !

Hi BDB,

Yes, tho it will work better for a pair high in the ham band. Expect a little pattern downtilt and slightly higher-than-optimum SWR.

Should work no problem, as long as the antenna is a DB408B (450-470 split). Don't end up with a C-split or D-split...

If you are going to buy a new DB antenna, contact Cook Towers. They keep all the DB-400 series in stock cut to the Ham band. They also give a Ham discount over buying it from the factory.
