Spectra Type 2 trunking scan question
Need alot of help in this as a search couldnt find my answer. We are currently operationg on a smartnet type 2 trunking system for public safety operations operated by the City of Columbus. There are system priorities that are set up in the system that can not be deviated even in RSS programming of scan. Even when scan set up in a zone without system priorities, there cant seem to be a way to set up priorities in RSS. Is there a way around this?? Any help would be appreciated.
..
what subscriber unit (i.e. radio) are you talking about?
spectra?
MTS?
XTS 3000?
STX?

I don't completely understand your question. If Priority Scan is not enabled on the system controller, then priority scan on individual radios will not ever work, even if you have your radio programmed for Pri Scan. There's not anything you (as a subscriber) can do about that, other than talking to the system admin.
Pri-Scan is enabled on the controller, well for sure on the public safety system (primary fire, police, etc). I've never had a problem with getting a personalized list of Pri-scan channels to work, unless you are referring to the former Franklin County system which is public works and backup public safety. That system is truly a type 2i system and I can't remember if they have Pri-Scan enabled on it or not (never checked). The majority of the talkgroups are type 2 on that one but MRDD still uses the type 1 programming, or at least did.
Are you from Violet? Curious because I saw the 592 in your handle.
I'm still trying to completely understand your question. I think you're asking if you can create a different scan list with different priority scan modes in the scan list instead of the template default. The answer to that is yes as long as the talkgroup end with an odd number and the talkgroup above and below also end with an odd number (ie 001 003 005)
