SmartZone programming question

Post by bellersley »

Hi all. When a radio is programmed in a smart zone system and there is no site lock/unlock button, is it safe to assume that the site is always unlocked, allowing the radio to automatically switch sites? This is on a radio authorized to be on the system.

That is correct.
We used to have a lock button programmed but took it out after officers complained of dropouts. They were usually locked onto a far away site

Excellent, thanks! Is there a way to lower the RSSI treshold at which the radio starts to look for another site? The system in question has several sites rather close together...

In RSS atleast, not sure about CPS, go from the main menu to F4>F4> F2> F2

That will take you to your Smartzone Environment screen, there you can change your RSSI thresholds...
