Australian CTCSS on a Motorola GP328

Post by losangelescop »

i am going to be programming some of the public uhf cb frequencies into my Motorola GP328's. Do any Australians out there know if you can program the PUBLIC CTCSS codes into a GP328 on public frequencies so there is more of a chance at private communications between me and some of my friends???? I am looking to get UHF CB Channels 1 & 2 programmed with #3 of the 38 PUBLIC CTCSS Sub-Codes. I need to know the exact TX and RX frequencies of uhf cb channels 1 & 2 with CTCSS Sub Code #3 programmed into them. below is the TX/RX frequencies of the 2 channels along with the frequency of CTCSS PUBLIC Sub Code #3 that needs to be merged into each channel. can anyone merge these together and tell me the final TX/RX frequency with CTCSS PUBLIC Sub-Code #3 attached??? thanks....

Channel 1 TX/RX (MHz) = 476.425
Channel 2 TX/RX (MHz) = 476.450
CTCSS Code #3 (Hz) = 74.4

just remember that it don't matter if you have a tpl or dpl code on your radios, anyone listening on csq will still hear you, you just won't hear them. i don't know if you didn't want them not to hear you or if you wanted to filter them out. by adding a tpl or dpl you are not changing or offsetting the frequency, that gets put in a separate box.

No it isn't.

Ahh OK - I am thinking pre-2002. It was illegal.

Ditto to what everyone else has said - it wont stop people from hearing you. All it does it prevent you from hearing them.

It's not illegal for businesses to use CB. Plenty would like that to be the case though.

Nothing in the class license says anything to that effect.

If I'm missing it, could you point it out?

(From the submissions I read about 2002 regarding legalising PL, it was mainly commercial interests who caused this to come about.)

It's not policed because it's not illegal, but I'll leave it there.

I find it kind of funny ProFF comes in here, stirring things up after creating an account...... and "LosAngelesCop" is in Australia, no where near LA!

Odd.

I have been into radio since 1977, you do the maths.
If I am telling you it is illegal and no one cares so it is not policed here in Australia.
This is the truth.
Besides you live in LA.
What the hell do you know about what goes on here in Australia.
I don't know the Laws in the USA and i wouldn't say i do cause I don't
here in Australia I can tell you anything about radio that has happen in the last 30 or so years
DON'T TRY TO TELL ME THE LAWS IN AUSTRALIA UNLESS YOU LIVE HERE
