Post by kjsrn »

Ok I've got an aftermarket rib
Old computer with dos 6.1 only

I've modified my code plug from 2 channel to 16
entered all my channel info for 16 channels
I can read the radio with this set up but I am not able to write to the radio
I get RIB port communication unsuccessful

Kevin, my first question is where did your RIB come from. Was it made specially for the HT1000, or did you build an adapter cable to hook it to the HT1000? I'm thinking that maybe the RIB doesn't have the "BUSY" line that it needs to program that radio. You can use a really simple RIB to program a lot of radios, like the Radius series, that only uses the "BUS+" and "GND" lines. I'm wondering if that may be what you have.
