Pocket PC Programmer

Post by larrybl »

Has anyone found any other models that will work? From the .txt file on the CPS CD, It looks like I need a HP iPAQ H5550 handheld Pocket PC, and the Pocket PC Application only Supports the XTS 1500, 2500, and 5000 Portables, and the XTL 1500, 2500, and 5000 Mobiles.
If you go to the HP sites and look you will not find the Ipaq H5550 even listed in their product line. As far as I can determine they don’t make it anymore. The only difference between this particular model of pocket PC and the rest of the field is that this H5550 has a real serial port.

H5500s are reasonably easy to find on ebay.

EDIT: Forgot to add that they were indeed discontinued ages ago. They're ancient.

Can't make MTUG, we are in the middle of rebanding, and as a municipial gvt, I can't buy (or even access) ebay. I was hopeing to try the Pocket PC to see if it would be usefull, expecially for re-banding.

from version R8.00.00 readme, 8) PDA application can not be used on a radio that had been programmed with CPS versions R07.00.00 or later.

Mototrola is working on fixing this and will update when fixed, this was overlooked when the software was updated to R07.00.00
