Hello,
I recently obtained an ex GP1200 flashed to MT2100, UHF. It basically works beautifully, with a lot of features. It has only one problem: it forgets the status of the PL/CTCSS and MUTE settings.
In almost all physical channels the PL/CTCSS is the to "Selectable", there is a list of CTCSS tones set up, the can be selected and encode/decode works -- until the channel is changed or the radio is switched off and on again. In this case, the PL menu shows PL:0, but that is not zero but "something" arbitrary.
To diagnose the problem, the PL number is permanently brought to the display. After a channel change it shows the last PL selected, but most surprisingly (e.g. "PL:3"), after a power-off, it shows "PL: " (that is "PL <blank>) and uses an arbitrary PL list entry. Again: after setting the PL from the menu, it all works -- until power-off.
If PL is set fixed in the physical channel definition, it's all OK.
Another, may be the same problem, but much less important: There is one menu item MUTE where you can switch on the key beeps. It works, but also "forgets" its status. After power-off, the beeps are off again.
Is there anybody out there who can help? Any hints are greatly appreciated. A search in the internet and this forum was not successful.
Regards,
T8000
