Will DB-25 to DB-15 Adapter Work On Motorola RIB ??

Post by w1ksz »

I was given a Motorola RIB (RLN4008B) and see it has a DB-15 connector. My Serial Cable ends in a DB-25. Will an adapter work or do I really need to get a Serial Cable with a DB-15 on one end ?

Thanks, Dick, W1KSZ

Try it and see.
You may have to change some wiring around but there is plenty of stuff around on ribs

What radios do you own?: Too many!

If the adapter doesn't work, just cut the end off and solder a 15 pin plug on the end of it. Heck, you could just buy the cheap-o 9-pin serial cable from Rat Shack and cut & soldered it.

Only thing is, you'll have to get the 15 pin plug from an electronics store as Rat Shck doesn't have them.
