im looking to pick up this service monitor m/n r2550a/hs. i cant seem to find any info on it. can someone give me a quick overview.

Yeah I saw it too on eBay - does anyone know if it can align ASTRO radios?

R2670 is the Astro/trunking/P25 beast
Cost you around 27,000

R2625 will do P25 as well but lot less features

Well, yeah brand new RRP would be $27,000. second hand or contract would be much, much less.

Not sure what currency that is - have a colleague that got his for AU10k. about 7k US used.

OK but what are the specs. does it have a spectrum analyzer?

The R2550AHS is a low tier R2600 series. It has the high stab oscillator (the HS part in the part #) and it does have a spec analyzer. The specs are the same as the R2600 series but be advised that it has its own firmware, has very few options, is NOT upgradable and does NOT support ANY TRUNKING (analog or digital). The 2550 was originally introduced for the digital paging community.
