What radios do you own?: Spectras, Sabers, MCS/MTS2000

Spectra Mic Gain

Post by ke4zdg »

Looking in the service menu of the Spectra RSS, there is an option to set the mic gain. When I try to set it, it says this feature is not available. Any idea how to enable it? It's not listed in the BitBang list.

Turn on the radio

Hit the mode button 5 times

Go into radio service

There should be mic gain

You do, however, need a 4 digit password to enter the alignment from the front panel, which is usually 0000,1111, or the last 4 digits of the radio's SN.

It is also viewable/changable in the RSS (FPP Alignment Password)

My 900 MHz E-series Spectra has it, settable from RSS.

My 450 MHz Spectra does NOT have it.

I think it depends on the radio, MLM, firmware, model number, etc.

Bob is correct, only on the E series.

Why do you need mic gain?
