P200 UHF

Post by stevey »

Howdy,
I have a p200 uhf that I have been trying to program but I
can't even get it to pass the com test on set up.Does anyone know if the p200 rss lb covers the vhf low all the way up to uhf or is it only lb specific. If that is the case this is probably why the radio won't communicate with the computer....maybe

What radios do you own?: XTS2500, XTS5000, and MTS2000

the P200 LB s/w only works with low band P200's, which are MT1000's at heart. You'll need HT600/P200 RSS and a slower PC to program them...I can't read/write HT600's on my P2 400 laptop booting to DOS...but they read/write fine on my old 486 IBM TP.

Low band is specific RSS, other version covers VHF and UHF models.

P200 RSS was produced in two flavors: P200lb, and P200(everything else...VHF high band, UHF). The P200 lb RSS should read your P200 without problem. It just won't let you write a codeplug back to your P200 if it's VHF high or UHF.

how will that work? the HT600/P200 and P200LB and MT1000 used totally different controllers...the P200/600 V/U used a non-scan capable controller whereas the P200LB/MT1000 used a scan capable controller.

You're right! I was thinking of the MT and talking about the P200.

The HT600 RSS will also work for P200's.

Remember these are DOS ONLY programms and need a slower 286/386 computer and NO windows...

Yes there is a later edition of the HT600 RSS that will run on pentiums in DOS only, but not sure of the Ver#.

Thanks for the help. I will give it a try with HT600 rss, can't seem to find anything for the p200 except for the low band rss.

As Will said, HT600 and P200 RSS are interchangeable except for the low band P200 version. There is no low band HT600.
