saber synthisizer ??

I have a NLD8691A I find no listing here or on repeater-builder? what is the bandsplit. It was in a 146-174. The radio is acting flakey and its the only thing that is out of the ordinary

I have nothing on low band Sabers, and I'm thinking that number is for the 66-78 or 74-86 Mhz. band split.

I sure can be wrong on that as I have never even worked on one of 'those' critters.

So if the number can be matched, I'll wager it's someplace on the low end of the VHF spectrum.

I'll dig through my manuals just in case as this is now a quest to answer the galactic question.

If that is the actual number, and the radio is not performing close to factory specs, I would say that module is NOT proper for the band you stated, which would cause erratic operation.

The proper number/s for the band split is: NLD8210x, which will give you that range.

The NLD8201x is for the 136-150.8 Mhz. split and does not allow operation above that, receive only, at best, but no transmit capabilities.

You may also be holding a Euro version of the Saber...MX1000, 2000, 3000.

Maybe even a Stornophone branded model.

I have no clue as to which one it could be from, only that all those version require RSS that is far different form the U.S version Sabers, and from what I understand, will not program 'our' versions either.

Thats the actual part # i was looking at it when i posted. I have a feeling this was a frankenstein radio. It was programmed at one time as a 146-162 but it had a FDS and reciever from a Mid mid split radio a Low split PA and a synthisizer from ?????

Right now its a spare that may end up as a parts donor..

That's probably a good place for it until you know for certain what that number pertains to, and what frequency band it properly belongs in as well.

You can never have too many 'spares' on hand, no matter how many you have!
