MDC1200 decoding on XTS3000

Post by realgeo »

Good evening, everyone!

I have a question about the XTS3000's capability to display MDC1200 radio ID's on the XTS3000's LCD.

First, am I correct in the assumption that the XTS3000 has this capability? For instance, if I have another radio that transmits its MDC1200 ID at the end of the transmission, should my XTS3000 be able to display that ID when received?

Second, if the above assumption is correct, how would I go about getting this to work?

FYI - I have LEGALLY purchased the XTS3000 CPS software from Motorola, so it isn't pirated! My Flash code is: 501008001a006

Thanks for any advice!

Looking at the flash code yes that option ins enabled.

When you are in the CPS open Radio Config, then Display & Menu, then PTT ID tab. That should be it.

Good Luck

Good afternoon, jwb8734!

Thanks for the hint! I'd swear I've already been to that screen, but will double-check it!

Take care!

Also if you have radios that are sending the ID at the end of the transmission and the 3000 flashes the ID very quickly and then goes away make the DOS coast time 0 in the MDC system window. They will show the pre ID fine but a post ID will flash on the screen and then go away, disregarding the timing options you set in the display menu.

*Edit* On a side note make sure the personality(ies) that you want this to work on you go under the signalling tab and enable MDC signalling. If this is not done it wont work.
