Glenayre PA Help

Post by Vercomm »

Hi Guys,

Not a moto question but I thought that some of the guys that have been around would have seen Glenayre in their travels. I have several Glenayre Power Amps (3T97A150) tuned on the 140.xxxMHz, and I am wondering if they can be retuned to the 150, 160, or 170MHz ranges. if so is the procedure difficult and does anybody know how to do it.

Thanks,

Jamie

What radios do you own?: Kenwood, Yaesu, ICOM, Motorola

Do these Quintron / Glenayre RF Amplifiers have Vacuum Tubes 4CS250R or are they Solid-State?

The Glenayre ones I have are solid state, there are no vacuum tubes in them.

Glenayre / Qunitron

Hello Jamie,

You might want to contact some of the former Glenayre / Quintron RF engineers and technicians now working for Ayrewave Corporation in Quincy, IL. as this the town where the transmitters were designed and built. There's an email address provided:

[email protected]

and a local telephone number 1-217-222-5242

I could believe that some component values would change up ranging the RF amplifier frequencies into the 150, 160 & 170 MHz VHF Bands.

You can also go out to Google and search on Quintron Transmitters.
