Will this Motorola MaxTrac 800 MHZ 2 Way Mobile Radio
Model# FUF1848AA
5 pin accessory plug
do type ii 800Mhz trunking?

The model number that you've given is not the 'real' radio model number. It's probably a D35 or 45 MWA5GB5_K, and this should be shown on the white polyester tag on the radio. The FUF p/n is an Intrac 2000 or MOSCAD part number, part of the system in which the radio was originally used and[factory modified] for. If it is, in fact, a 5GB5 it will only do type I trunking.

It sort of depends on if the firmware PROM has been changed. I have seen G5 radios made to work as a G7.

The big issue is that they will not do splinter channels that are now common on the trunking systems.
