Post by emsbuff3240 »

Hi,

I just got this tone encoder off ebay and I was wondering if it could stack tones, and if so how?

What do you mean by "stack tones"? If you mean send multiple tone sequences of A/B one after the other, no it can't. The R1150 series (the last version is the R1150E and the R1151A) is an encoder designed for use with other test equipment to test receiving capabilities of individual pagers, radios with paging capabilities & etc. It also provides pl/dpl & dtmf capabilities to rf generators that didn't already have those capabilities.

If your encoder IS an R1150A, call the Test Equipment Depot at 1-800-323-6967 and see if they can still update it to the "E" version. This is a firmware update that has added features and bug fixes since the "A" version first appeared.

I did call them, there was a sticker on the top of it with that number. Apparently They no longer support that model.

PS and yes that is what i meant a sequence of A/B, because its a pain to put tone Hz s in after each sequence.
