Min V with open squelch/alert then kapoot

A few pagers at the firehouse seems to be doing this. I cannot find a SRN or anything here. Batteries have been swapped out and I believe we all have normal desktop chargers.

Out of the blue, the pager will open up to squelch, after a couple of secs a solid alert tone will sound then it dies. Batteries have a good charge.

I don't know the software/firmware revisions on the pagers. Some have been cycled thru the depot, others have not.

We just got 5 pagers with various problems along those lines.

2 with malfunctioning squelch buttons

2 without the variable alert volume, even though it's programmed that way.

1 Has the working variable alert, but it alerts at full volume the first time and low volume the second time.

PJ was you alert a true alert or did it just open up falsely? I had my VHF 151-159 MV open up on a true page theny die. The pager was in a amplified base. It would not work in or out of the amplified base. Took it to the dealer that sold it and they could only get it to work in a non amplified base. They sent it back to M. The replaced the entire pager and did not provide any technical information.

Oh well.
