Do you have a small solder iron and the skill to use it?

Just unsolder the channel crystal and replace it with the new one.

Retune the receiver and your back in service. You will need a service monitor or at least a signal generator to allow you to retune the receiver and set the crystal on frequrncy.

A word of caution, when you retune the receiver, make sure you have the case against the circuit board. If not, the front end will be tuned different when you put it the case.

I'm having a similar problem. A fellow co-worker has asked me to try to fix his Minitor II he bought off of ebay. He has installed the correct reeds as per some of our other pagers, however it's not working.

I think it's naturally because the wrong crystal is installed. He has tried to swap in other receiver boards from our "Pager Graveyard", but with no effect. Still does not work with our tones, monitor will not work either. Then the genious's he was with decided to "play with all the screws inside". (This of course didnt work)

I'm thinking that I can swap in the crystal from one of the dead pagers, short the jumpers as per the write up on Batlabs, and then *try* to align the thing.

The alignment part is what's getting me, I can't seem to find this information anywhere. Is this a guarded secret? I don't have access to the $10,000 service station, but I do have access to basic test equipment (Scope, meter, signal generator, etc)..

Does anyone have the procedure for properly aligning the pager?

Thanks.

I am also in need of alignment instructions. Anyone have them, or know where I can find them at a reasonable price?

Thanks,
