Slightly OT - Anyone ever tune an SVR-214???

Post by n9upc »

I have interfaced a Pyramid SVR-214 and was trying to tune the Rx front end per the service manual instructions yet I can not get it to tune correctly at all.

I was wondering if anyone has ever tuned a SVR-214???

I am using a Motorola Service Monitor 2600 with double shield test cables that are good.

So can anyone help???

I tuned a bunch of the SVR-200s a little while back, I think they're pretty much the same. The only thing I recall about tuning the front end is it was hard to see any change on my meter when adjusting the coils, so I had to adjust the amount of signal I was injecting, I think if you do it the way the manual says you end up with too much signal and it goes into limiting.

Do you have a second service monitor? I know it calls for using two monitors to do some of the level adjustments, one on the SVR freq and one on the radio's freq.
