Cross radio programming

Post by squashie8 »

Does anyone know/ have a program that will take the codeplug from say a cdm 1250 and convert it to an HT1250 etc etc etc? All of that re-entering stuff is for the birds. I have been thinking about programming an app for that, but I believe the code plugs are encrypted and I don't have the decryption algorithm. It would be tedious, but dang if it wouldn't be a world of help.

What radios do you own?: HT1550's, X9000's, CDM1550's

ya that sucks but the cps for the ht/cdm's don't let you drag & drop like some of the othere cps's. you are stuck with having to re enter all the info. i'm hoping they will add that feature to upgrades soon.

Just a thought

Basically all I would like to be able to do is extract the personality name, if there is one, Tx, Rx, and the corresponding PL codes from the codeplugs. That's the stuff that gets on my nerves typing over. The program wouldn't be hard to write if you knew how to extract them.

It would be nice if Motorola had a programming interface to allow 3rd party developers to make add-ins such as a button for import and export of the common fields between radios. That way in the Professional cdm software you could export the stuff to a file and then if the customer went with a CM300 or anything else you could just import that same file and cut down on tedious work. Just a thought.
