I have a spectra remote mount low power vhf. When the unit powers up sometimes i get ER 05/10. And for some reason the other day the unit stoped receiveing. I get the beep and everything from hitting the buttons and can transmit but no receive even when i love the SQL. Need some help here.

I believe error 5/10 means its programmed for a 2nd control head and the communication with it has failed.

If you dont have two control heads hooked up, reprogram the radio for one control head not two.

Eliminate one problem at a time. Correct the control head error first.

I think you may have a radio with the SIU (serial interface unit)
that normally is used on the goverment dual radio packages
showing up on the used market. Most of the time they
come with one VHF and one UHF radio. Most people toss
aside the UHF radio as so far no one has figured out how
to range change them.

The error code from what I have indicates a serial bus
problem. In trying to decode it, several refferences point
to the siren/pa. I would guess that your radio code plug
thinks it still has a siren connected to it. This was a normal
option from the goverment surplus radios.

Error 8/10 is siren, 5/10 is 2nd control head.
