P100 Cloning Problem

Post by Stage 2 »

I have a set of Motorola Cloning cables for the P100/HT50 series. I connected the cables to a pair of radios and, followed the instructions as in the service manual. The frequencies did successfully transfer. However, the PL tone did not. One thing that did not occur was that the instructions indicated that the receiving radio would beep when cloning was finished. After a few minutes of holding the source radios's PTT switch down and not hearing this, I released it. The receiving radio immediately beeped up doing this. Now I have a radio that has the right frequencies, but, not the right tone( if any ). Additionally, this radio no longer "beeps" when turned on as they usually do. I had made up a jig that allowed me to use one of the radio batteries as the power source for the cloning cables. Was this my "undoing" here, or, is there some other problem? I have tried to re-do the process by hoding the source radios transmit button down for longer periods, but, the receiving radio won't change it's "mind". One more thing, the receiving radio worked fine with others on the same freq's before I tried cloning it. Help, thanks in advance.
