T3011BX to DX upgrade problem, help.

I have a T3011BX that I have upgraded with a Motorola factory AX/BX to DX chip. I replaced U103 with the new software chip and u104 with a 24C16 EEPROM as listed in the upgrade instructions. Now I am getting a U104 error and the unit locks up. any ideas what is happening? I have replaced the 24C16 EEPROM with another one with the same error. Thanks
