Motorola Spirit Charger Question

Motorola Spirit Charger Question

Hi all,
I had asked a similar question a while back on this board, regarding a Motorola Spirit radio. The charger for it say that the output is 11vdc 55mah. I have a old wall wart laying around with 9vdc 100mah output. All I would have to do is wire up a plug for it, which I have laying around. I assume that with 9vdc this would charge up the battery (7.5V)?
